Our mission

Most language tools teach vocabulary and grammar well, and speaking badly. Learners finish a course able to read a paragraph but unable to hold a five-minute conversation under mild pressure. Konzul exists to close that gap: to give learners a place where they can speak Hungarian aloud, be understood, be corrected, and try again — as many times as they need, without the embarrassment of practising on a stranger.

Educational focus

Konzul is a learning product, not an advisory service. The curriculum covers everyday spoken Hungarian: introducing yourself, describing family and background, talking about work and studies, explaining plans and motivations, and answering unexpected follow-up questions in a second language. Learners work through structured stages — guided learning with translation support, free conversation practice, and unaided speaking — and receive language feedback after each session.

How AI supports the learning

AI is a supporting technology inside Konzul, not the product itself. Konzul uses AI to transcribe what a learner says, to generate a natural spoken conversation partner, to vary question wording so practice never becomes rote memorisation, and to produce written feedback on grammar, vocabulary range and fluency. The learning design, question topics and assessment criteria are authored by the Konzul team.

Interview communication training

One of Konzul's practice formats is a structured interview conversation: a learner is asked questions in Hungarian, answers aloud, and receives feedback. This format is useful because it forces spontaneous production under time pressure. Some of our learners use it while preparing for a consular appointment; the practice value is the speaking itself. Konzul does not advise on any application, does not review documents for official purposes, and cannot predict the outcome of any procedure.

• Heritage speakers rebuilding a language they heard at home but never studied.
• Learners who need to speak about their own life and background fluently — for study, work, family or an appointment.
• Anyone who wants unlimited, private, low-stakes speaking repetitions.
